Unable to open Count Anything due to E0Ferror. Log states:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "main.py", line 18, in File "startpage.pyo", line 11, in File "loc.pyo", line 208, in File "loc.pyo", line 159, in init File "loc.pyo", line 172, in set_preferred_language File "loc.pyo", line 118, in get_prefs File "loc.pyo", line 60, in load EOFError
It appears to be a coding issue and I dont know how to fix it. Error is occurring for both Count Anything v2.0 and v2.1. I have not done anything else to the computer that may have caused this.
I am running Windows 10, unable to upgrade to Windows 11.
Any help is much appreciated!

The EOFError (End of File Error) you are experiencing with the program "Count Anything" suggests that there might be an issue with reading a file, likely a configuration or preference file that the software relies on. This type of error usually occurs if the program expects a file to be longer than it is, or if the file is empty or missing.
Here are a few steps you could try to resolve this issue:
Check File Integrity: Ensure that all files required by "Count Anything" are present and not corrupted. You may need to reinstall the software if any files are missing or damaged.
Preferences Reset: If the program uses a preference file, try locating it (it might be in the program directory or your user profile) and either back it up and delete it or rename it. This may force the program to create a new preferences file upon startup.
Check for Updates or Patches: Sometimes, software patches or updates are released to fix known issues. Visit the official website for "Count Anything" to see if there are any updates that address this issue.
Run as Administrator: Sometimes, file access permission issues can cause such errors. Try running the program with elevated privileges by right-clicking the executable file and selecting "Run as administrator."
Compatibility Settings: If the software is outdated, try running the program in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows by adjusting the compatibility settings in the file properties.
Consult Support or Forums: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to the official support channels for "Count Anything" or check online forums for similar issues experienced by other users.
Hopefully, one of these steps will help resolve the EOFError you are encountering.

No, the software is not used to generate invoices. It counts the total number of words, characters, letters, numbers in a given file. It supports many files including, but not limited to, DOC, ODS, TXT, HTML, etc.
The results of calculation for a .xls file are different to what several other software offer (about 20-25% more). How is this. How is the calculation done? Otherwise very quick & simple. Thx.
